Barclay's created a $2.5 bln retention bonus fund for Lehman's US employees and suggested it might cut half the employees it had acquired, largely those in Europe (Telegraph).
Nomura has acquired Lehman's Asian businesses, including all employees and operations, but no assets or liabilities (NYTimes). Nomura is also interested in purchasing Lehman's European businesses.
On Monday, Barclays raised £700 mln of equity capital (Telegraph). Good for Barclays.
